Last Friday, January 10th, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our new facilities in the University of Central Florida Business Incubation Program in 111 E. Monument Ave., Kissimmee, Florida 34741. A beautiful location in downtown Kissimmee.
Today, I want to share some of the backstage experiences that allowed me to celebrate this milestone in the journey of the institute.
In July of 2013, I decided to quit my job to execute a project that I have been planning for at least 10 years. I think it is important to mention it, because it may encourage you to pursue your dreams and goals.
The last five months were full of learning. To be honest, I discovered that after all the planning, execution is not a piece of cake. When you start to execute a plan you will find out that there a lot of variables that you didn't consider, because you were not aware of it (or at least I was not aware of it).
I learned that I am in a process called "Progressive Elaboration". That's the part that I love, I don't have all the information, but I commit myself to the project. I wake up in the morning open to learn and discover more information, and to search for new resources. I know that it is possible. I'm so grateful and blessed for it.
Last Friday, we celebrated a milestone of the project: The Grand Opening of our facilities. DRW Life Skills Institute is a safe and confidential environment to discover, learn and practice Emotional Intelligence for Personal and Professional development. Our portfolio of programs include:
Personal and Professional Development Program (Coaching, Assessment & Training)
Careers Programs (Coach Track & PMP Track)
Corporate Program (Assessments, Seminars & Workshops)
I have a wonderful advisory board, and an amazing supportive team. We started classes last September and we have more than a dozen of interns in the Coach Track Program.
I'm so optimistic in the impact that we will have in the community and the world. Emotional Intelligence facilitates communication techniques, interpersonal relationships, decision making, problem solving and life satisfaction. We are committed to spread the message and be the change.
I want to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for your support, and invite you to learn more about our work. But mainly, If you have a dream, plan it, and execute it, it's OK to be in the "Progressive Elaboration" mode. You don't have to have all the information to execute your plan. - DRW
