Emotional Intelligence: Holistic Approach for Wellness

Emotional Intelligence is the art and science of managing our emotions and those of others. It has a great impact in our well-being. Emotional Intelligence is divided in two main areas:

  • Wellness

    • Self-Awareness

    • Self-Management

  • Leadership

    • Social-Awareness

    • Relationship Management


Why Emotional Intelligence for wellness? Emotions have a physical manifestation in our bodies. It's important to recognize those sensations before become in psychosomatic conditions. 


Let's share some tools to be more self-aware of emotions:

  • Identify Emotional Red Flags: behaviors that are the early symptoms of emotional problems

    • Inappropriate humor

    • Use of sarcasm

    • Passive aggresive behavior

    • Playing the Victim

    • Hostility

  • Keep a feeling journal

  • Conduct a physical inventory

  • Use quiet time


Learn to recognize your emotional triggers is important to reduce emotional breakdowm. Emotional breakdowns affect your health, performance and interpersonal relationships.
