2017 Emotional Intelligence Symposium was held during the 2017 State Small Business Expo in Melbourn
Brevard’s Biggest Business Networking, Entertainment and Educational Event of the Year - Huge Success
On May 6th & 7th the State Small Business Expo founder Selo Alkaranfil and Organizer Joanna Godwin held a high energy expo at the Melbourne Square Mall. Close to 100 vendors/exhibitors from around the area were in attendance to showcase their products and services during the weekend. It was a Spectacular Opportunity for all local businesses as well as educators and entertainers. Given the opportunity from the Melbourne Square Selo and Joanna were able to raise the expo bar a notch and created an event for everyone by providing entertainment such as vocalist, Sinatra impersonator Michael Mirand, Performance by Brevard Ballet Academy and Salsa Heat, Fashion Show by Michael Emmanuel Couture, Storytelling and book signing by Jaimie Engle as well as face painting and balloon art by Brocko the clown & Lil Rosie.
Educational classes and an Emotional Intelligence Symposium was included as well. Dr. Wanda Gascot and several top notch life coaches presented lectures through the weekend; there was even a protection awareness/self-defense class.
The Melbourne Square is under new management Washington Prime Group and when Selo Alkaranfil met with Melbourne Square Marketing Director Lesli Smith she was very receptive and welcomed the opportunity to support Brevard County.
Owner of Red Ginger Restaurant Grace Han partnered with and joined the SSBX and offered to host a Red Carpet Reception and Award Ceremony at her restaurant in the Melbourne Square. Chuck Fresh and Karen Wooden from WMEL’s Radio TakeOver also joined in as partners and covered pre to post expo, interviewing business owners during the event.
The SSBX supports local charities and this year raised $4,793.00 for
Malak's Medical & Dental Warriors a non-profit charity for young people who are living with conditions, marks or scars that affect their appearance.
This was something for everyone and the plans for next year have already started.
